Ceylon Tea Cake with Honey Butter Cream
May 18, 2014
My very first baking session with Jingen and Stella after so many months. All we need is a better cake recipe and a less sweet honey butter cream. Waking up without an alarm is definitely way more refreshing. It's so much healthier for our souls when we can wake up without formulas to remember, questions to understand, quizzes to study for, tutorials to work on, online assignment to burn our weekends and many many more 'torturous' to-do list running in my mind. I've been multi-tasking between baking and keeping the house clean, between walking and coordinating all my meet ups and, running errands and rushing everywhere to meet my schedule.
I spent four days in Malaysia right after exams. We found ourselves rushing here and there, hopping from city to city. I spent one whole day soaking in Malacca's good food, eating every single minute from delicious black pepper chicken chop on sizzling hot pan to roadside fried dough stick (Which is so friggin' good it's incomparable to any stalls in Singapore) to super yummy chicken porridge to many more which I have forgotten. We stuffed ourselves silly that day. God's presence came down and embraced our relatives just on the day we left for Singapore. Thank you Jesus for everything You have done for all of us. Heart transformation that led to Your healing powers to flow within. You are ever amazing.
It's the summer holidays and I've been enjoying every single bit of it including wasting my time away.
"Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time." This sudden liberation from studies kind of placed me in don't-know-what-to-do situation. I'm starting work tomorrow. I wished I gave myself one more week to do whatever I like but I need the money.
I just love being able to be with Jayden all the time during school term. We meet in school almost daily over the past 13 weeks. Now that school semester is over, we're both too caught up with our own things. It's just like a prelude of us officially entering the workforce after we've graduated from NTU. By then, we won't have that much time on hands to spare for each other like how we have now. Shall make every second count when we're together.
