The exchange rate I got was SGD1 = NT23.55
Total expenses for accommodation and transportation is around SGD297 (NT7000) excluding airfare.
Airfare (Flyscoot) including travel insurance is SGD436.55 + SGD2 (We added extra 5KG for our return trip because we bought too many food and things).

Transport within Taipei is quite convenient.
We reached Taipei @ 5.30am approx and caught a bus to Tao Yuan HSR.
The bus from Tao Yuan Airport Terminal 2 to Tao Yuan HSR comes every 15 minutes.
Signage in the airport will lead you to the bus area to purchase your tickets.
There will be a few bus companies that you'll see. Go to United Bus company for the tickets to HSR.

Upon reaching Tao Yuan HSR station, we decided to have a cup of Starbucks while we try to understand how to get to the apartment we booked.

We couldn't stay in hotel because it was a budget trip.

Frankly speaking, it's only right to stay in MinSu and not Hotel because MinSu has it's own style.
The better Min Su's will have very good services provided by the landlord.
On average, all the hostel/ apartments that I stayed in were SGD20+ per night.

With lots of time on hands to kill, we settled down at Starbucks, enjoying the natural air-con temperature, trying to familiarise the roads to our hostel in Kao Hsiung.
P.S/ The price of Starbucks isn't cheaper than Singapore's Starbucks.

We booked our HSR (High Speed Railway/ Bullet train) online 2 weeks before we went to Taiwan.

The good thing about this booking system is that you will get Early Bird Discount and you can opt to pay when you reach any of the HSR station!
If you miss your HSR, don't worry because you can always go to the ticketing area to change your tickets to a later timing.
Likewise, if you reach earlier and would like to catch an earlier train, you can change too.
But be ready to pay more when you want to catch an earlier train.

The train is really very comfortable.
I've always loved Taiwan's HSR.

To get to our Kao Hsiung hostel, we had to take HSR to Zo Ying HSR station and switch to Kao Hsiung Metro which is similar to MRT.

Glass-stained MRT station where a lot of wedding couples would come here for a photoshoot.

The place that we stay is just 3 minutes away from the MRT station and just 5 steps away from Liu He Ye Shi.
I'm satisfied with their services but I just don't like the fact that they don't clean their rooms regularly and only clean it when there are people staying.
My nose is pretty sensitive to dirt and thus this room is actually filled with dusts.
Overall, it's still a pretty good place to stay considering that we're on budget.

The website that you can book the rooms - 亞特 - 高雄
